How often you should replace your hair dryer depends on a few factors.

If the model is inexpensive, [replace it] every two years. If it's expensive or professional quality, [it will last] five to seven years and have a warranty over 2 years.

WARNING SIGNS  YOUR BLOWDRYER IS AN EXPIRED TOOL:

1. It rattles – and a rattling sound is never a good sign.
2. Your hair is frizzy when it’s done.  
3. Your hair takes forever to dry.  If you’ve noticed that it seems to be taking you longer to dry your hair, the dryer is probably at fault.
4. You’ve thought about it and realize your hair dryer is more than 3 years old.

PS- Remember To Clean The Lint Filter on the back of the dryer! That filters the air blowing on your hair. When it clogs, it’s like trying to breath through a stuffy nose. It’s slow and agonizing!

How long are curling irons good for?

Between 500 to 1,000 hours

Curling irons are typically made to last anywhere between 500 to 1,000 hours.

Frayed or damaged wires are also a serious sign of wear and tear.

When your barrel plates get scratched or dented, or the coating has worn off, it can alter the finished style because of the uneven heating surface. More importantly, it can damage your hair by clinging or pulling on the hair. Repetitive use with an old tool can also cause the hair to lose its shine.
