Jessica is the owner of Elayne James Salon and a Level 6 Master Artist. She is a Redken Certified Colorist, certified in multiple hair extension methods and mesh integration, and specializes in lived-in color, gray blending, color correction, brunette color, and solutions for thinning hair. She describes her approach as creating “hair that moves,” with natural-looking color, density, and shape that fit each guest’s life.

Jessica opened Elayne James Salon in Middletown, Delaware, in October 2005. After retiring from regular behind-the-chair work, she returned in 2021 to introduce new services, continue evolving the salon, and remain connected to the craft she teaches. She especially enjoys mentoring the team and watching each person grow into the work that makes them happiest.

Her industry experience includes the Miss Teen USA Hair Team in 2023, the Miss Teen Delaware Hair Team in 2023, Say Yes to the Dress, Delaware Today, Delaware Bride, UDress fashion shows, and Glamour. Under her leadership, Elayne James has been recognized as a Salon Today Top 200 salon five times, named an Emerging Growth Business by Delaware Today, and reached Redken and Kérastase Black Elite status. Jessica also works with a national salon consulting company, traveling throughout the country to teach and collaborate with other beauty professionals.

Outside the salon, Jessica is fairly low-key. She enjoys time with her family, grandkids, and dogs, and she looks after the birds in her neighborhood.
